Meraki
Early Life and Inspiration
Meraki (whose real name is Aphiwe Mangalia) is from Lusikisikini, Eastern Cape, but raised in Durban.
He started writing songs in high school (2008) but didn’t pursue music as a career due to skepticism.
His inspirations come from Offstage Music & Entertainment, American Blues, and Hip Hop.
Career
Performed his first song “Uyanyisa” on a cruise ship in 2019, which motivated him to pursue music.
Performed at private events, Tattoo NPS Deliala, and various Hip Hop events in Durban.
Recently performed at the Human Rights Campaign at the Bat Centre.
Collaborations and Management
Worked with Doc Sheyz, Magah, Jay Croager, Spha Beats, Mash Vilakazi, Tatoo NPS, and Jah Picasso.

Recent Work
Released an LP titled “20 Blunts” in 2024, which is a unique contribution to the RSA Tap industry.
